Timing drive maintenance
We replace timing belts and chains in Tallinn according to the maintenance schedule and diagnostic findings. The exact engine is required when selecting parts, as the same model may use different timing drives. We check the service history, signs of wear and the requirements for replacing the complete kit.
When to plan timing-drive replacement
The belt interval is based on the mileage and age specified by the manufacturer. With an unknown service history, appearance alone is not enough. Chain noise, synchronisation faults or changes in engine operation require diagnosis rather than waiting for the next service.
Timing-belt replacement
We select the correct belt, pulleys and tensioner for the engine and check whether the water pump is driven by the same system. During installation we follow the specified shaft-locking and tensioning procedure, then verify the timing and engine operation.
Timing-chain replacement
We assess the chain together with its tensioner, guides and sprockets. Lubrication faults can also cause noise. Where extensive dismantling is required, we agree the gaskets, seals, fasteners and other materials before work begins.
What the estimate includes
The cost depends on the position of the drive and access to it. Fasteners, shaft seals and operating fluids may be required in addition to the timing kit. For an initial estimate, provide the VIN, mileage and date of the last replacement.
